Chris Great Video, I seem to have more trouble topping my 3&4 Hybrid clubs opposed to my regular irons A-5 irons any help with hybrids would greatly be appreciated especially on the Par 5 holes where I can’t reach reach the hole unless I’m using my hybrids..

You know, Chris? I tried to intentionally top a couple of shots on the range the other day. Just couldn't do it, kept striking it pure. Then got on the course and the first iron shot I had, WHAP, right on the top! LOL!! What a game!

I've found the single most useful drill has been to take up the stance on a practice mat without a ball and swing with the aim of the club head just barely brushing the mat. To me it seems counter-intuitive as how could you generate a divot if you barely touch the ground? However, I found that using this type of swing, the club head speed increased [according to the Quad GC] with increase in ball flight height and the swing followed through without the dreaded 'chicken wings'. The Quad GC and impact tape also confirmed that the impact position of the ball was closer to the sweet spot.
It's almost as if I was being thrown off my stroke if I hit the ground during the swing.
Whatever the reason, it seems to work for me.

Great lesson, thanks! Does anyone know of a solution for standing an alignment stick up on a mat/concrete floor? Looking for something like a stand to put the stick into then adjust the angle. Thanks in advance!
