I'm 58 years old and had my first colonoscopy in 2021 and also my grandfather died from colon cancer. They found 5 polyps specifically tubular adenomas except one of them had high grade dysplasia. I was recommended to get tested annually so I went in 2022 for a second colonoscopy and they found 4 small polyps and Doc was wondering why I was there so soon and seemed irritated that I was even getting checked, said come back in 3 years. It seems I'm the person who grows polyps at an annual rate so why would they recommend I wait 3 years? Given the fact that one was pre-cancerous wouldn't it be more prudent to be checked every year? I don't understand why I have to wait. Any advice would be appreciated.

Can polyps grow from nothing to well established colon cancer in less than 2 years since a last colonoscopy.? I guess everyone is different will be the answer, based on diet, age, health and genetic history.
