Does free form make sense? And if it does why are we not using more of it? Don`t we know that the cost is not a problem any more? Nothing stays in the way of our creativity. Computers and Automation will give us the power to make a giant leap in sustainable and efficient design.

Organic forms in nature are the result of natural processes of multiplication or flow. Man-made construction is the result of cutting and assembling rigid materials. I think that's a strong argument for the cost efficiency of rectangle forms. It's cheap to generate meshes on a GPU, not so in real world, unless you 3D print everything and even then rectangles might win out depending on the properties of the material in the tube.

The challenge is that reality fails you many times and you get back to the comfort zone, LOL. Don't even mention that even in school, some professors wouldn't let you do your own thing~
