Programming Architecture - Structural Engineering Today

In this video we are talking about the in-house developed methods for dealing with free form structures. We are able to take a free form surface, divide it, define (code) different types of structural members, connections and facade elements and "with one click":
- export the geometry to the static analysis program
- generate the complete 3D geometry
- generate the 2D workshop plans for all elements

The methods are developed in C++ in form of a plug-in for Rhinoceros 3D.

The point made is that we need a shift in the way we think about modern structures. Nowadays we can simply define the rules of geometry generation for different architectural elements and completely automate the construction/production process.

I am currently studying masters of construction and real estate management after my B.arch. I came to this video hoping to find why i don't feel good even till now. Architecture gave us very bad design skills and we don't know anything else. Revit and all this 3d is cool till the time you are not called a modeler or visualizer, not to mention staying indoors pinned to that idiot box.
