Bird Test

The "bird test" is a way of checking to see how much someone cares to be in touch with you. It predicts the strength of long-term relationships and it can also show you who wants to talk to you and who to leave alone.

this is also extremely true for maintaining long term relationships - continually responding to their bids. for both genders.

I thought this was going to be the much stupider test where women ask "If I was a bird, would you still love me?"

you know you're Chad when you show them your stamp collection and they feign interest

"hey look at that art", shit isn't "yep". "Ok, shall we go eat lunch then?" "Ok!" 😂

I liked the "modern art is garbage" casually thrown in 😂

This is so true, but I never really thought to turn it into a test. 😅

I was recently dating a woman who had ZERO, I repeat, ZERO interest in sports when I met her. I'm really into basketball and the playoffs were about to start so I was watching and going to a lot of NBA games. Within a month of us dating she had bought a jersey for herself, knew all the starters names for my favorite team, and was talking about basketball with her co-workers daily which really confused them. 😂 According to her, I somehow explained it in a way that made it it more interesting. I think she just liked me and wanted a common interest we could share.

This is a really long way of saying

“ if they are interested in you, they will engage”

Her: Look at that bird.
Him: Ok, what about it?

Her: Oh my God relationship over.

Only problem I have with the bird test is how disingenuous it is. Unless you’re actually interested in the bird, don’t use a bird. Show them something you’re actually interested in. That’s not so manipulative.

Great advice, works for both sides, designed to help people figure out if they even want to be together, not trick them into giving you something

this is SO true about 15 years ago when i was single one of my buddy's opening lines was always some variation of "oh hey.. have we met?"
i thought it was lame
yet.. it worked for him!
if the chick was into him, the answer was some variation of "yes" (or some kind of positive spin)
and if she wasn't into him, it would be an apathetic "no"
and lo and he met someone and married her!
i've since used that gauge (her response to ANYthing i say) without knowing ppl already studied and knew about and gave it a name
cool
(( btw.. you could say "the sky is blue" and her response tells you everything you need to know ))

THE BID
hoe_math: Hey, look at these colored pencils....
girl: huh...they're alright I guess?
hoe_math: *writes down* level 2-3; Egocentric, self-absorbed, not fixable 😂

It's eye-opening to see how small moments, like sharing a look at a bird, can say so much about our relationships. It's all about those little bids for attention, isn't it? Makes you think about the small things

Never knew this was a thing, but it's a pretty smart and safe way of guaging interest without worrying about a strong feeling of rejection

It's not the red herring that matters, it's how we are sharing the red herring 😂

This is actually the way I talk to women I met. You can also ask about something in her past and then talk about it as if it is a bird. That way it becomes more meaningful and you get to know each other.

Also helpful because if you know they don't really care about the bird, you find out early on that they're the type who likes to randomly test your relationship
