Both extremes are unhealthy, you need a little fat, but not so much where you break your back getting out of bed....

Basically this doctor figured out the classic method of "if you tell people what you want to hear they will eat it up" and wrote a book to get rich.

So if you smoke and don't have any negative symptoms your healthy? Even if you smoke and work out? makes sense

I don't think being overweight is healthy but if your overweight and active and eat healthy then your more healthier than a person who mainly eats junk food and are not able to run .

A mile in 15 minutes is a perfect goal if you are younger than 7 or older than 70.

Fat and fit dosn't mean Fat and healthy. When you work out 9 hours a week and don't eat junk you lose weight, end of story

Lol.. I guess there is a lot of money to try to rationalize obesity to fat people.

As an underweight sufferer of hyperthyroidism, I will admit that most of my overweight friends were more fit than me. They had more muscle mass beneath the fat. I had no fat and no muscle. THIS is a stupid rationalization. Being over AND under-weight is NOT "fit". Gain or lose, healthily.

Ok here's what I think. Being at normal weight is probably the best and healthiest thing to do...if your slightly underweight that's ok and being slightly overweight that's ok too, especially if you have a lot of mussels or whatever . All that matters is that what your eating is relatively or mostly healthy and that you get some sort of daily exercise even it's just walking for twenty minutes. However, if you are extremely underweight or obese, or at any weight in which you have health problems because of it, then that is not okay. You shouldn't need a extra seat belt or not be able to fit in a booth at a restaurant.

If you have little body fat you aren't fat. Generally, BMI is still a good tool. It's only inaccurate for children, the elderly, and elite athletes.
