The Mafia was really disappointed by the introduction of the trunk release.

‘If you live outside the US, please don’t judge us’… I am laughing really hard right now! LOVE AMD, and LOVE his wisdom and humour! With love, from Canada.

One other thing to add regarding keyless fob and start/stop push button. If your keyless fob battery died, you can start the engine by placing your keyless fob close to the start/stop push button.

I driven or owned 3 Toyota Corollas since 1984. Today I'm driving a 2005 Toyota Camry. I've never had a problem!

8:32 The same flat surface is also used to remove the parking shifter lock for when you need to shift your car out of park when the battery dies.

AMD, I want to thank you for all that you do. I recently purchased my first hybrid - a Toyota, of course) and part of my research included several of your videos. I am a “car guy, ” but I was so impressed by the technology and dependability that I made the jump.

Here in the US I remember that the speedometers went up 120 mph for the longest time on cars. Then it was 85 mph after the 1st gas crisis in the '70s until I think the '90s; they usually had a little red or highlighted "55" on them for the "double nickel" speed limit.

My understanding about fuel fillers is they are usually located opposite side of single exhausts for safety reasons. Volvo explains it as such.

Cool. I have a 2006 Corolla Matrix 4WD with over 224k miles. I just did its 43rd oil change. Still runs perfect.

I started driving a truck for a lumber yard in 1971 at the age of 14. By 1972, I had my commercial license under a hardship program. I drove a lot of 50 & 60’s model bobtails with lift beds. In those north Texas good heater was had A/C. I never knew to complain. Good days when $1.65/hr went pretty far.

Decades ago there was a quiz on Car Talk asking how you can tell from behind the car without looking at either side which side the fuel door is on. The answer was that it was on the opposite side of the exhaust.

I actually just started using the “Auto” function on our cars A/C systems a few weeks ago and I love it. I set it at whatever temp I want and just let it work for me. I’ve been much more comfortable. Not sure if that’s just mind games or not, but I find the auto function preferable now.

The small “screwdriver” end of the key, while helpful to open the case for a battery change, is to remove the small cap that allows you to release your vehicle from “park” when you battery is dead. I’ll bet most drivers don’t know how to do that. Fortunately, tow truck drivers do. Thanks for another great video.

Thank you, I had even searched google for why the filler is put where it is. On closer inspection the filler is in fact on the side that’s closest to the fuel tank as you said. As for the trunk release, when I was about 10 my friend convinced me that he could open it from inside (no internal latch back then) so we jumped in and shut the lid only to find out he was wrong. It took about an hour for his dad to hear us yelling and banging to let us out so I think it’s a good idea. It’s the same reason latching fridge doors had to have an internal release because back in the day plenty of kids suffocated from climbing into that old fridge sitting out in the shed and closing the door.
