I just don’t want o be the third wheeled so I try to avoid couples. Not outta jealousy I don’t hate anyone. I just don’t want to put myself through that stuff & feel uncomfortable.

I've been a third wheel a few times. It never lasts long for me though, I just tell my friend I'll leave them alone while their gf/bf so I don't interrupt anything and just end up hanging out with other people until my friend feels like hanging out with me for a while. There was a time when I was a third wheel and didn't leave, but with that I just sort of... was there. I didn't contribute much.

Personally, I simply avoid the "couples" scenes altogether
until I'm paired-up with a date or a significant other.
As a musician, whenever I see an approaching couple
engaging into their mushy romantic displays,
I play something that's non-romantic
whether it's a folk-rock standard like "I Am A Rock", by Simon & Garfunkel
or a psychedelic novelty like "Psychotic Reaction", by The Count Five....
If and whenever a couple invites me to an outing or something,
I simply tell them that I have important things to do
or I'm down sick and thus, be there in spirit.
Hypothetically, if I was out with a couple and they're doing
their annoying lovey-dovey stuff while en route to a restaurant,
and I see a sandwich shop, I'd ask the driver to pull over and drop
me off and I could get out of the car and say to the couple,
"you two lovebirds go have your fun while I go to the sub shop
and feed my face there and from there, I'll just walk home".
Perhaps they'll wake up, get a clue, and in the future, line me up with a date.
(unless they're too much into each other and don't give a darn about the lonely-at-heart)

Dear Josh, I need some help. I have been going to private school since thrid grade due to bullying in 1st and 2nd grade in public school. I am in 8th grade now and I have had the same 30 kids in my class since then. I never really clicked with anyone and I kind of want a fresh start in high school. My options are a larger private school with those same kids but more added or a large public school with my second grade bullies. It would be super akward to see them. The decision need to be made relatively soon and I need some help deciding. Any help or opinions?

I haven't really been a third wheel when it comes to couples, but I have when it comes to hanging out with friends if that makes sense. I've turned down a few invites to hanging out cause I've been by myself before while "hanging out" with them. This video Basically explained my situations when I'm with friends but they talk to each other and hardly to me so I'm pretty much a "third wheel" except the couple thing but instead it's with friends. In my experience, being the third
wheel causes me a lot of anxiety,
especially when couples are getting
too lovey-dovey and kissy-kissy in front of me,
making me a total nervous wreck, and I'm like,
"either line me up with an available lady or get a room".

And when I'm playing music, and I see couples walking
by, engaging in their romantic PDA's,
I start playing non-romantic stuff like "I Am A Rock",
or some novelties and/or mind-trippin' psychedelic stuff,
while looking away from their lovey-dovey activity,
or I simply close my eyes while performing.

But seriously, couples should start showing
some consideration towards the lonely-at-heart
(including myself), and recognize the fact that I got
more important things to do than be a
"spectator" to their mushy romance...
(or in this case, the "third wheel)
and either "chill out" on their PDA's in front of me
or do their lovey-dovey thing somewhere private,
and/or at least show some common courtesy to
introduce me to a single lady they'd know
who's single and looking for a special someone.

But if these couples are simply playing games
at my heart's expense, then they're on their own.

What about 5th wheel? Or 7th...worst I’ve ever been is 9th, those are all true stories. A weekend of 5th wheeling led me here. Shit is driving me nuts.
