I've been asked many times about whether I think Eckhart Tolle is a good teacher or points from a place of authentic realization. In this video I unpack my impressions of Eckart Tolle and his book The Power of Now.

Two of my favorite starter books for awakening are The Power of Now by Tolle and The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer.

However, Awake It’s Your Turn by Dr. Dillulo is the Most Direct Pointer for the serious inquirer! While the other 2 books definitely chisel away at the ego, Awake is like hitting the ego over the head with a sledgehammer! No dancing around the “what about…?” questions. Direct and to the point!!! Thanks Angelo! ❤️

My brother read Power of Now in prison. It was in the prison library. Since he was to spend 10 years in prison his wife sent him his own copy. He said it changed him and made prison tolerable. I wish there were copies in every prison. Thank you for giving us your feelings on it.

I love Eckhart with all my heart, when I discovered him I was so depressed I couldn’t get out of bed and I would just listen to the audio tape of Power of now. I felt his presence through the tape and it got me through the darkness. 15 years later I still follow his teachings and am eternally grateful to him I love him so much

It absolutely sounded like word salad to me 15 years ago. Now, it's all so clear and makes so much sense. Funny how spirit guides us when it's our time 💓

I came across a cool cat known as Paul Hedderman. He goes about non duality by paying attention to what we’re not, instead of trying to understand what can’t be understood.

I was one of those who experienced the shift out of ego into realization while reading The Power of Now. It happened very quickly. That put an end to a 27 year practice of a formal meditation practice more than 20 years ago. After that shift I reread Ramana Maharshi, J. Krishnamurti and a few others who I couldn't understand decades earlier, but sensed there was something important there, but I couldn't 'get it'. After the shift they made perfect sense.

My personal favorite of his books is Silence Speaks, especially the audio version. ET's slow style of speaking the short 'sutras'/phrases and the long pauses between each sutra allowed me to easily drop into presence. I found what worked best was not trying to understand any of it, but to have an open and innocent attitude. Just listen and be, and the transmission will have fertile ground for the shift to happen..

Power of now turned on an irreversible switch of awareness over myself and my ego, consciousness and unconsciousness. Amazing book, life changing. This knowledge is true power.

First time I read the power of now I closed the book about halfway in and threw it at the wall while saying numerous expletives. Revisited it a few years later and it clicked! Glad I tried it again

Couldn't agree more. I just finished the book again for easily the 8th time. His was the first book I ever read on the subject of nonduality. Since reading it for the first time, I have read many, many others, and have watched countless spiritual YouTube videos. I always come back to the Power of Now and realize yet another layer of truth or completeness that I was not in the place to hear or understand the last time I read the book. I highly recommend his book to everyone.

The power of now was my "entry point". Actually the audio version was the first I listened. It changed my life in a sense that before I thought there was only religion and belief, but then after (and during) the power of now, there came this recognition that there is this awakening thing available, and its a real attainable "thing!" and it has nothing to do with religion and belief.

After my mom died while nearing a turbulent end of graduate school, and in a decade long bout of panic attacks and anxiety, I was at wits end. I was in these pits in my bed one early morning, and I had it. With deep determination that startled me, I said I will find something online to help me. I said please help me find something in a prayer of sorts. In no time, The Power of Now was on my screen. I bought it for my Kindle which I had recently purchased. That book started my continuing transformation.

I highly agree! He's the real deal. I'm reading Gary Crowley's book Soft Style Conscious Awakening now and he has a really unique way of expressing how to experience your own reality. To summarize....It's the difference between actually experiencing yourself in the moment and thinking about yourself. I've read and listened to many folks who share this understanding and his simple exercises/questions have the potential to show people how to tell the difference. We aren't conceptual, we are actual.

When I was deep in severe anxiety I would search for an end to suffering which lead me to his videos on YouTube and eventually his message seeped through - I tried to be more mindful and then my thoughts went and awakening happened.

"Eckhart Tolle is....AWESOME!" YES!! He is a master with no lineage in this lifetime, but truly a master. I got very confused when my teacher didn't give him much credit and claimed he’s not "non-dual". I knew immediately that this teacher had never truly LISTENED to him. His message is deceptively simple, as you mention - that's its beauty actually.

Have you ever listened to Rupert Spira? He has my whole heart. His teaching was apparently the immediate trigger for "my" awakening (I hate saying that in words) although Eckhart & J. Krishnamurti came before him. But Rupert showed me HOW to look at reality (much as you show) and he has the most brilliantly beautiful conceptual model which many people mistake as "too intellectual" - to me he's a true artist of language, but ultimately he is a Sufi at heart. Was curious what you think of him as well. Thanks!

I'm just now getting back into mindfulness and non-duality after a couple of decades of default living. I used to come at it from the whole spiritual/woo angle, and very heavily so. Now, just doing what I can to achieve a calm mind. Eckhart Tolle's stuff is proving helpful. I'm glad to discover your channel as well. This is all greatly helping to reduce the anxiety and catastrophizing that's been plaguing me for the last several years.

Yes the power of now helped me understand my ego and he has been pivotal in my transformation. I Started staring at flowers because of him and discovered my energy. I am now an energy healer and it all started with him. I now like to listen to folks with new perspectives and just found you today! On my journey, I am learning to create and manifest, which is the best part of discovering your true nature. It took a while to cleanse and let the sticky emotions heal. 🙏

Before awakening I was still very open and seeking. I remember seeing This book on display at my bookstore and thinking "that sounds interesting" then I went a couple of years without reading and I didn't know why. Seemed that I couldn't find a book that interested me. I would go to bookstores a leave without a book over and over. So strange for me. One day I was home and it just hit me. "I need to read The power of now." Straight to the bookstore I went. It turned out to be life changing. Timing, guidance, readiness? I don't know but still seems amazing the way it all unfolded.
Love and light to everyone reading this!

I agree with you 100%! I listened to PON audiobook back in 2013 and I was speechless! I loved it so much and couldn’t explain why ! My husband was going trough awakening/self realization at that time but did not know what was or how explain it . I suggested to listen to the book and immediately he understood what was about that change of perception. We both love Eckhart’s teaching and all his books, videos, retreats. Highly recommended!

I listened to his books and talks for about a year straight many many hours. I had some wonderful walks with glimpses while he spoke to me. He is a sweet kind man. : )
