The former Nike control center site near Gardner, KS was our 7th and 8th grade middle school. The old admin buildings were the classrooms and the old mess hall was the cafeteria. The library was the bomb shelter, the doors were 3 ft thick. The buildings are now gone and Nike Elementary school is in its place. The launch site is about 1/2 south and the magazines are welded shut. Interestingly several months ago there were some US Army types poking around the launch site.
