I heard the sarcophagus in the kings chamber was also used as a tool for initiates of the mysteries to be initiated into. That if you are alone in the chamber, you will meet an entity and be able to communicate with to learn said mysteries..

In old paintings, the sides of the pyramids are at a steeper angle than today. Why? Have stones been added to the outside of the pyramids so that their walls became smoother?
