Screening Centre, Not Hospital, Should Be First Stop After Testing Positive, Chennai Says

With many private hospitals in Chennai running out of ICU beds amid a surge in Covid cases, the Chennai Corporation has appealed to citizens to not seek admission if they are asymptomatic or with mild symptoms. The civic body has also asked private hospitals to admit positive patients only if they absolutely require hospitalisation so that those with severe symptoms would get beds. Any of the dozen screening centres in the city, the corporation says, should be the first stop for non-emergency cases for an assessment. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to Chennai's Corporation Commissioner G Prakash on the system in place and on complaints of inadequate beds and the anti-viral drug Remdesivir in private hospitals.

Can we talk and ask from PM about availablity of resources against 10 lacs or more cases for Covid 19..
In reality, India is suffering for more than 5 Lacs cases..
In resources, we need to focus all below.
1.) Covid Test and report timing
2.) Beds n Hospitals
3.) Medicine and applicable Kits
4.) Oxygen, their Cylinders
5.) Doctors, Nurse, supportive team
6.) Administrative teams

Most important thing, all informations must be correct and fair.

Because any distribution in any resource is very critical to save life of people.

He is talking nicely... But in ground reality is Chennai is also badly effected with covid crysis.. bed oxygen cylinders... I had myself had to take search for hospital bed for my Mom for about 8 hours and at last got bed at 12 am in night...

The loss of life is irreparable.
The second wave or new strain is more deadlier because the virus now enters the lungs directly..it enters the alveoli where the exchange of gases takes place through tiny holes as tiny as you can imagine... The blockage of these Alveoli is root cause for Oxygen Now the oxygen cylinder works for only 2-3 hrs ... meaning each patient needs approx 10cylinders per day... So if there are 20 patients on oxygen cylinders ..with each patient needing 10 cylinders per day..that comes to 200 cylinder per day for 20 patients. Now keep adding 5 new patients every day. Meaning the demand went Up by more 50cylinders... So next day requirement is 250cylinders next day requirement is 300 cylinders.... That's the reason why Oxygen cylinders are running out fast... Costs of oxygen cylinders are borne by patients... Assume 1000rs per cylinder... 10 Cylinders 10000rs per day per patient... A big hole in a pocket in just 1 day
So stay home stay safe you don't want to be in that situation..where your life is dependent on oxygen cylinders and your pocket is empty in no time.
Watch videos on YouTube how to increase Oxygen intake naturally.. keep human interactions as least as possible, avoid eating anything without thorough handwash . Step out only if necessary and keep interaction with friends and colleagues or strangers to bear minimum. Move away from crowds if possible. While travelling keep hands in pockets to avoid touching face or handles. You don't want to be Lying on that hospital bed or sitting in a wheelchair waiting for a bed while your loved ones are running around helter-skelter searching a bed for you risking getting infected themselves, or find yourself lying in a ambulance for hours waiting to be admitted, neither do you want your loved ones undergo the same.. Stay home stay safe... interact with friends through social media... No use blaming any government at the moment( even though they are responsible no doubt about it... but now our lives are in our hands)..all are trying their best, governments could or should employ more doctors and nurses and also give an opportunity to undergraduate doctors and nurses to help tackle the growing pandemic where previous lives are lost every hour, hopes diminishing and Prayers not heard the hands that save is the utmost need of the hour, ( inturn they can give a break to doctors and nurses who are already overburdened, overworked and exhausted) God bless
