I saw that comment and gave it a like. I'm in my 40's and going back to community college for a math based course so I've been cramming stuff I "learnt" 30 years ago in high school, Hah! I still suck at this stuff. I remember failing at math so hard. I have no idea how I ended up doing calculus in year 12, it was such a struggle. I must have learnt logs at some stage but I don't remember ever needing them beyond HS.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m older and actually interested in learning math now, or because my teachers didn’t explain things as well as you, but I have always sucked at math and remember not really understanding logarithms in school, but now they seem so easy. Either way, nice video!

Logs were used to multiply large numbers. Using log tables then add The indices. Sort of what a slide rule does. But that’s another video.
