There are two simple ways to solve for these simple logarithms (assuming they can be solved with whole numbers):
First, the way that most kids do it, is to take the base number (in this case, 2) and keep multiplying it by itself until you reach the "argument", or the number you want the base to be equal to by multiplying the base by itself: 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 =32 . That gives you an exponent of 5 for base 2.

The other way is to do the exact opposite: take the "argument" number (in this case 32) and divide it by the base number (in this case, 2) and keep doing it: 32/2 = 16, 16/2 = 8, 8/2 = 4, 4/2 = 2, 2/2 =1. Both ways will give you the correct answer, 5 as the exponent to raise 2 by.

I've found the second way is slightly less frustrating than simply multiplying the base number over and over again by itself and hoping you get to the argument number. It's also a much faster way to discover whether or not the argument (in this case, 32) can be reduced to the base number.

The reason I made this comment is because a lot of kids don't simply "know" how many times a number multiplied by itself will give you the argument number in these equations.

I go to a school which teaches IIT math but they came no where near explaining it this simply. I thought this was gonna be a super tough chapter, but this is one of the easiest. Thank you so much

I have never learnt logarithms... I thought it was a complicated thing. I tried learning it by my own but I was extremely confused between logarithms and exponents.. thankyou so much for helping me to understand it crystal clear ❤😀
