Which consumer-direct bike build is best: Canyon, Ventum or Fezzari?

Many bike brands are selling direct to consumers now, which means that you can save some money and that you have to build the bike yourself.

I assemble bikes from Canyon, Fezzari and Ventum to see which is fastest and easiest to build.

That Ventum is gorgeous. That’s a dream bike for me.

Uhhh... You're much more of a bike mechanic than I am. Easily take me a couple of hours and a lot more head scratching for me. Loved the music. Thanks for the video - I think I'm going to stick with my dealer.

My OBED BOUNDARY was rolled off a truck fully assembled in my driveway. The delivery man said I get to adjust the seat height, but he would gladly put the pedals on for me. That's it! Rode it fully loaded, (tent, cook gear, etc. ) from San Diego to El Paso, and lightly loaded from Pittsburgh to Cumberland. All in all over 2, 000 miles since December. Great customer service. Highly recommended.

Another super nice one! And, thanks for the last presentation. It was the final straw needed to make me buy the Crux.

Great video. You continue to come up with original ideas for content that make me think, why hasn’t someone already done this?

Ridden all 3 brands and own two. All 3 have great US support with any warranty issues or technical questions. One big plus of the Ventum and Fezzari is you can choose the exact bar, stem, crank etc length when you order. Fezzari is more limited on Color options though. The best looking bikes are the ventum and canyon choices. I own both ventum gs1 and canyon grizl and love both

2 months ago I got my cube nuroad c62 race... waited for it pretty long time but it was worth it, fully grx810 2x mechanical, easton carbon bar, pretty light newmen alloy wheels and carbon seatpost (switched to canyon vcls s14), absolute bargain even against canyon, 2800 euros... cheers from GER👊

Got a Canyon Ult. rim with full ultegra super deal which I didnt need (got 10 others) but the 2250 price was just too good& took a few minutes to assemble, cake job for me, the Fezzari looks good

I've bought three Dolan bikes. Assembly was fairly easy, no derailleur adjustment needed, as they were all track bikes.

I have a Canyon Grizl, was super easy to assemble and when the derailleurs needed adjustment after a couple weeks of riding, Canyon reimbursed me the cost my local bike shop charged. Great customer service.

One thing to be cautious of, especially with Canyon - check chainring and crank bolt torque. I have seen dozens come to me with loose or hardware not torqued to spec right out of the box. Canyon tosses their hands up in the air. QC out of the plants is poor.

While I love my LBS and they have certainly helped me when in a jam, they’re usually 5-7 days for a bike build. Totally kills the vibes after the bike gets delivered. 😂 Getting a Canyon was what got me going for working on my own bikes. They do not come out of the box dialed in.

Enve has to be my favorite, they ship it in a hardshell bike bag. I usually buy frames and build it myself, but I have been looking at some of these consumer direct gravel bikes because it's hard to beat the price saving and some of them offer a fair bit of part customization.

I think the Fezzari packaging is the most practical. It is the most compact and if they offer to sell the bike without wheels, it makes even more sense. It would be a great way to customize the build.

Love my Fezzari Veyo with 12-speed Ultegra di2 ($5000) and upgraded Zipp 303 Firecrest ($1300 upgrade for the same price as their 404 Firecrest upgrade). My local Trek Bike shop installed it for me and everyone loves the bike there, too. Been getting compliments on it on rides and I find it rides better and is more assuring on descents and technical turns than my previous 2021 Giant TCR which while I find it's a bit more fun sprinting off the saddle, it is also a bit more twitchy and harsher on the ride compared to the Veyo.

Other upgrades include ENVE SES aero handlebar and Specialized S-Works Romin Evo saddle!

Good vid Bro, I like them all but I guess the Ventum is the best one for me or the Enve! I’m surprised that Envie hasn’t sent you one!!!

Great vid, the front derailleur needing adjusting on the Canyon seems pretty typical. Saw that on another video as well as on my own Grizl.
