I came across this video today which is ironic because literally just yesterday I took my newly purchased AirPod Pro 2’s (usb-c) (it’s actually the 3rd set I’ve owned but due to circumstances out of my control I ended up having to sell my previous two pairs because as a fully disabled combat veteran living on a LOW fixed income I needed the money) BACK and exchanged them for the Sony WF-1000XM5’s for three main reasons (in no particular order): Sound quality, ANC and battery life. ALL of which they (the XM5’s) DO BETTER and in the case of sound quality it’s a SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENT over the AirPod Pro 2’s (which were my favorite earbuds of all time up until yesterday) and even the battery life is a pretty substantial upgrade going from 6 hrs with the APP 2’s to OVER 8 hrs with the XM5’s and for someone who uses them ALL DAY/EVERY DAY to help combat the severe tinnitus I suffer from as a direct consequence of my military service, I say the more battery power the BETTER!!!

No hate or shame CJ, don't worry man. To each their own. Coming from an audio engineer standpoint, CJ clearly knows what he's talking about. Everyone is different. Like what you like. For me it would have to be the Sony's, as I've never been a fan of the AirPods. But that's just me.

Tbh between these 2 earbuds in this vid I don’t know which is best because the find my is a big deal on the AirPods Pro 2 in my opinion but the sound quality and the unique features on the xm5 like head gestures and such is a bit better in my opinion as well. It’s very tough so I always use both when going out.

Thanks for the video. Got the WF-1000XM5 couple of days ago now. Have to say the sound of music is way better than with my airpods pro. Airpods has the best comfort for my ears, but have to go with the xm5s due to the sound.

Not too much bass compared to the airpods and much clearer vocal picture. Just my two cents :)

Just got mine today. I have the over the ear sony WH1000xm4, and that headphone is spot on the best headphones for me. With this new eardbud version. I am counting on giving me the best sound performance for discrete music listening.

I agree. I'm loving the Sonys but Aiprod Pro 2 definitely have amazing transparency mode. I don't think it could be beat.

Taking care of my hearing is why I love headphones....and for that I am sticking with the Sony M5 as an alternative.

I don't own a iPhone but coming from a Samsung s23 ultra been collecting galaxy buds for 3 yes own 2pair want to get the new sonys but which one is really gd on bass galaxy buds2 pros or the new sonys m5s 🤔

Ive tried both earbuds, honestly I can't compare airpods pro 2 with xm5, i didn't like the sound profile at all and were not staying in my ears, so returned them within a week...ive been using x5 for a week now, the only issue sometimes the touch control do not work and i have to put them back in case to get them to work

It's crazy how many different opinions are about sound quality. I heard some people say the Wfxm5 have really great bass and some say the opposite. I'm a basshead first and audiophile second so my buds gotta have that deep rumbling bass.

I've had my XM4's for a few years now and love them. Looking to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading but maybe I'll keep the 4's and wait for the XM6 :) Nice review.

I can’t believe reviewers don’t even know how to insert foam tips. I mean it’s their job and Google is easy to access for research. He’s just putting in the hear line that and wonders why there’s no seal.

I like to use comply foam eartips. I always get them when I get a new pair of earbuds.
