I m glad that I have bought a 94 BMW 530I with 260, 000 miles and a 99 BMW 740il with 221, 520 miles and I just recently bought a 2007 BMW 328xi with 134, 700 miles. I have driven in a Lexus, Volvo, Acura, Nissan, etc. I honestly will say that BMW cars are on a different level. The driving experience makes you want to drive your car and you may not something to do but you want to just get in the car and drive, perhaps run some errands, etc but you will love driving. After work, I just get in my car and fill up the gas tank, run some errands, etc. I just find something to do and drive away! My cousin had a 1987 BMW 528IE and he had 360, 000 plus miles before a truck totaled his car and he was very sad. That car was bought brand new by my uncle. I know people who have 300k, 400k on their BMWs. It is just like any other car, you need to take care of them. You need to do preventative maintenance before it fails which I am trying to do with the 2007 BMW.

People give up on cars, cars with effective maintenance usual don’t give out on people 🍻🍻🍻Thank you for sharing ❤️‍🩹

I've never been a slow driver, but I've never pounded on my cars either. Anyone who has ever rode with me will attest that I'm very smooth. I almost never floor the throttle, and if there's a red light up ahead I'll let the car coast for a quarter mile rather than jam on the brakes. Driving style can easily extend the life of a car, as well as shorten it.

Definitely agree with the last tip. I tend to drive my cars in sport mode a few times a week to get up into the higher RPM range...without getting a ticket

Great video Mark. Key points to maintaining a vehicle. People just want to get in and drive but forget about maintaining it. I have 2016 S550 and I baby my car and it has been an amazing vehicle thus far. Maintenance and cleanliness.

I just recently bought my first car, a brand new HRV. I'm not too familiar with car maintenance so this was really helpful 👍🏽

Great video. Routine maintenance, along with preventative maintenance is paramount. 2007 BMW 328i, 240, 000 miles and counting. 🚙

I agree with every bullet point of this article!!! I take my Jeep off-roading a lot. To avoid issues with rocks abusing my car I get my car ceramic coated! without the ceramic coating, mud would be everywhere and I feel like there would be a lot of scratches and we don't want that. It glides right off when I wash it. I got it done by a company called Detail Doctors in Milwaukee and they're the only company that uses Jade Graphene, which is apparently the best of the best. It's crazy the difference that it makes for keeping it looking good as new. I am guilty of keeping tons of junk in the back seat as well. Need to start doing better at that and get rid of the junk!

The driving tips you gave are great. Many rarely mention them.

I agree with your advice, I wish I knew this when I first bought my 91 bmw 525i even though it did last for 235000 miles. If I would have taken better care of it, I would still have it. Thanks again!

Always solid content. At least ur Mercedes has the dip stick to check the oil. My 2018 X5 doesn’t have a stick dip. Hating checking it electronically. Nothing beats a dip stick. Another scam by car manufacturers.

I have owned many supposedly problematic vehicles over the years including VW BMW Mercedes Audi and even Daewoo and FIAT.
I have always followed the severe service schedule outlined in the owners manual because that most accurately describes the conditions most vehicles operate under.
If a particular vehicle calls for premium fuel I filled it up with premium fuel every time I never tried to save a few pennies by using lower octane fuel.
I never used low quality replacement components I always used OEM or better.
All of the vehicles I have owned I've put in excess of 200, 000 miles and a couple I have put over 300, 000 on.
Of course problems are occured but they were usually minimal if memory serves me correctly over 35 years of driving I have only had vehicles towed three times.
Take care of your car and it'll take care of you.

In my mind, engine oil, transmission fluid and coolant are top three. Use OEM specs and change before recommended mileage. Don’t buy cheap fluids and gas. It’s worth the extra few dollars. DO NOT use Quicky lube shops either. Too many horror stories. Thanks Mark.

PPF, Ceramic or Nano coating = no need for polishing/waxing for 3-5 years depending on how you maintain cleanliness.
As long as you have an oil pan heater OR Engine block heater ;)
Carbon buildup...?If you are mostly driving in town/city, assume you have build up ;) If you don't do the 'italian tune-up' way, you best spend money for walnut blasting those cylinders.
Great tips neighbour! All your tips are very true and best to be followed ;)

thanks for teaching me that brake heiroglyphic - i've literally just texted my friend - his son's got it in orange on his dash and i had to admit on the spot i didn't know what it was " check your manual because it won't be good" was about all the use i was! 😂 it is so obvious when you point it out! 😅

I have a 2012 Civic (65k miles) similar to yours, a 2001 W210 Mercedes E430 (150k miles) and a 2005 W211 E55 AMG (110k miles) and I do all of my own maintenance and repairs and I use FCP Euro for just about everything due to their lifetime warranty. Both of the Mercedes’ were very well cared for and rust free with dealer service histories but each had typical (expected) issues that happen to these cars. The E430 needed plugs and wires (16 of ‘em!) a window regulator and I had all of the dings removed and did around 30 hours of paint correction to bring back the shine to the black paint but the interior still looks new inside and has that classic ‘German Car Smell’. Besides some paint correction (also black), the E55 only needed a trans service with a conductor plate and I have upgraded as things failed like adding a VRP pulley and a tune when the supercharger bearing failed and I upgraded the suspension to adjustable coil overs when the Air Matic strut blew. I always use premium fuel and both stay clean and dry in the garage and I rarely drive them in bad weather unless it’s unavoidable. Both are paid for and I have an accumulation of common parts (starters, voltage regulators, sensors, etc.) for both cars on the shelf and I have slowly picked up the 2 or 3 specialty tools that make working on them so much easier. I could not afford these cars if I had to rely on the dealer or even a reputable German shop and it is channels like this one and their advertisers that help me keep my cars looking new for many years to come! Now I have to go order some Torque spray!
