Really really good video. Thank you for making it. I'm old, but in car work years, I'm zero years old. I got nuts and bought not one, but TWO project porsches, a 1979 924, and a 1983 944 in the last six months, then I bought all kinds of basic tools, then I stopped, out of total fear of doing real damage to cars that both basically work already more or less but still need tons of things done, and I'm swimming in information I barely understand. Your tips were exactly the kind of thing I came here this afternoon to find. Thanks again.

Good stuff Brad! My tip would be if you don’t have the right tool for the job, stop. Be patient and get the right tool even if it prolongs the job. Or else you could do costly damage on what could have been an easy job.

Another great vid and great tips too. The only tip I could add is to include a couple Advil with that water! I always seem to need one after an afternoon of wrenching! Oh, and I got a good chuckle from the engine cover body armor! Loved that!!!

I had that exact same black convertible Mustang GT. 1995 5.0. Black with black leather interior. Had it converted to manual transmission. Loved that car. It's what got me started on my love for cars and learning how to do all my own work.

Nice vette btw. Now I've got an 07 Mustang GT with a neat "outlaw" package from Roush on it from the factory. 156k miles on it, still in great shape but doing my best to restore anything that needs it. Actually just did a complete timing rebuild on it myself.

Great vid Brad, good tips with labeling and taking photos (I do that all the time). Have you considered a “Top 5” list video, for example “Top 5 Tools” or “Top 5 Maintenance Jobs”. Thought for next time 👍

I would also suggest paper towels or rags. Maybe cardboard or anything to prevent leaving stains or to absorb them.

And I thought I was the only guy who did all that... lol
I just did the Crankshaft Position Sensor on my mom's RAV4 and if I had made a video (like I wanted to) you would've given me a thumbs up cuz I followed all of your tips except the plastic baggies but I often do the post-it notes trick, I have another 'system' lol for that that I've been doing for years and the habit is hard to break (Its a bit 'complicated' as it has many different 'options' lol) but I always wanted to do the ziploc hack just kept forgetting to grab some and too lazy to go back and get them lol. I am glad I'm not the only one who looks at saved youtube videos to 'follow along' or reference while I'm doing the job, but you organize them better than I do lol.

Thanks Brad (for validation ;) ) and for showing the Power Seat rail replacement!

I plan on getting a second car in the near future to learn to work on. In the mean time, I'm gonna hold off on most auto work other than adding fluids or changing out certain minor parts for my main car. Not because I'm afraid to get dirty, but because I don't want to make a mistake that will affect my car for work.

Hahahaha I remember when you made that oil mess at the end. :) You're practically a pro now.

My best tip: Welding cap. That way you don't come out from under the car with your hair full of oil, grease, highway dust and whatever else it was that you spilled on the garage floor.
