I have been using a pixel 8 pro for 2 weeks and upgraded from pixel 7 and I don't think the issues you said are even a real problem because the heating issue does not occur in everyday task I only experienced it when I was recording a seminar after 35 mins of recording in 4k 60fps and the throttling doesn't effect you if aren't a hardcore gamer playing heavy games regular games work fine even heavy games can be played for atleast 20-25 minutes before noticing frame drops their are not a lot of people who just need a great phone and don't play a lot of games for them the ai features are really useful the ai features are less of a gimmick and are very practical the charging speed although slow can last you an entire day and lets be honest if we can accept iphones for 25w charging we can also accept 27w charging and 18w wireless charging thats great for wireless charging and I didn't faced any slow download speed for updates even with pixel 7. I think this type of video only makes you think that pixel 8 series phones are bad and not justified for the price but I think its really good phone for the price the come at these features are not available on other smartphones and very useful in everyday life I feel like YouTube reviewers focus a lot on the raw performance rather actually talking about how good it works in daily life what do you want to do with 1.5 million score on geekbench if you don't use 1% of those applications that actually take benefit from that extra power other day to day task work as smoothly as any other phone

If they'd bring this series with Snapdragon SoCs then the pixel phones would be best amongst all Android products

Little bit Throttling is ok.. but heating and battery management is a major concern..

Here's some words from a pixel owner:
1. Yes the chip isn't that great but I'm at a point where I don't play high graphic games I only play fifa mobile and some other games which run perfectly fine.
2. Updates do not take a long time. It is a myth and the only updates that take more than 20min are when you move from Android 13 to 14 or when the phone gets a new software update.
3. Pixel pros is available in 128, 256, 512 and even 1tb versions just not available rn in India

Most of people never understand pixel phones are not for gaming tensor chips are build for ai tasks not to play high end games the phone intension is itself different and people are comparing with other phones🤦

44c is okay on G3 while comparing G2 reaching 48c. That's much better. As for system A/B seamless updates, it takes long time to copy data from slot A to B and restarting only swaps the slots which allows faster boot up time and pretty safe.

Yes, just because a different chipset scored better scores, that cannot be set as a benchmark. The question is do we need more raw power for our phones like we expect from our PCs 🤔 why would someone perform stress test and benchmarking on a daily basis? A reviewer can be user but a user is not a reviewer. Besides you can always schedule updates install overnight.

The Android update doesn't blocks you from doing anything else. It takes time since it runs in background, the actual blocking time is same as other manufacturers or even less. Other two issues are true.

lifelong iphone user, best $1000 i spent. 256GB model and pixel watch 2 promo. I don't use the phone to game that's why i have a pc lol. Mainly use it to keep up on socials and for work. this phone is great imo. Its quick, i got to test the cameras a good bit now and i can say the quality is as good as they make it sound.
