Massachusetts students rank number 1 on several national education benchmarks, including the SATs. But not every student in the Commonwealth is hitting those high marks. More than a dozen advocacy organizations across the state, including the Urban League of Springfield, came together to push for an honest and open conversation about the achievement gap, and how to help these students catch up. A new report from the Massachusetts Education Equity Partnership points out several of these gaps are among African American and Hispanic students who aren't making the same grades as their Asian and white peers. Carrie Saldo discussed the latest findings from the achievement gap report with Henry Thomas, President and CEO of the Urban League of Springfield.
