Thanks for the support on the channel everyone. Are there any movie fx you'd like to see me cover?

For a movie that is so heavily criticized for its use of CGI, that’s a pretty cool practical effect.

Star Wars practical effects and miniatures will be studied by historians in 100 years. It never fails to amaze me what they accomplished

It's really cool that it wasn't just cgi like I always asumed.

Always nice to see that fans were able to be part of the production ;)

This was frankly one of the best done scenes of the prequels. That stadium felt alive

"What job am I doing today?"
"I need you to paint 200, 000 of these swabs for me."

Practical Effects is an ART. It takes creative people to come up with solutions to make scenes look real.

To this day the first alien movie is incredible, just knowing it was all puppeteers

*Fun Fact:*
One of the miniatures used for the crowd, was a tiny action figure of Marvel's Thanos. He can be seen on the steps, rather than seated in the crowd.

So, Thanos technically appears in a Star Wars movie.

A healthy blend of practical and CGI never hurt anyone!

Physical "practical" effects are wonderful and show the artist creativity.

With 3d printing tech being more available than ever, it’s amazing how few practical effects we get nowadays

Honestly… it brings me great joy to learn things like this about Star Wars I wasn’t aware of… it’s just so creative and wonderful…

And sometimes the methods used for effects just seem so wacky or odd but that just makes them even better

Do I miss practical effects? Yes. The limited creative space of real materials is a joy to watch.

I remember as a kid, the Liberty Science Center in NJ had a showcase of movie special effects and this was one of them. They had a button you could press to turn on the fans and make the crowd “cheer.”

Practical effects and CGI is the best combination. That's what made Jurassic Park soo incredibly convincing because the switched between both. But those CGI dinosaurs, especially the raptors are still some of the best most photorealistic CGI effects I've ever seen to this day and that was back in 1993

The practical effects went crazy and the cgi still holds up

Yes, the level of creativity in thinking of this is amazing
