Roadside Botany - Invasive species are taking over!

Filmed last spring, I observe the flora of a roadside in Missouri. Primarily Callery Pear (Bradford and Cleveland select) Pyrus calleryana. But there's also Bush Honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii) and Multiflora Rose (Rosa multiflora).

Don't plant invasive species. To benefit wildlife, plant native species. Then if they escape you're doing a good thing for the wild areas around you.

Wild areas? That area looks (and sounds) just about as dusturbed as can be. I give the invasives credit for growing in such a difficult area and kick starting the process of succession.

I have personally declared war on all of those invasive species in my area so there are a few of us trying at least. They really should be outlawed on a federal level it makes no sense that nurseries still sell them.
