Common New England invasive plants and why they suck

This video is a short introduction to just a few of the invasive plants you might find in a New England backyard, roadside, or forest. I’ll continue to post updates on organic methods of control and removal and how we’re progressing toward our goal of total invasive eradication here on the farm!

omg, multiflora rose and bittersweet are my nemosis. I have years of work ahead of me to rid the edges of my yard of both. Particially because I have poisen ivy mixed in to make it difficult.

LOL great content !!! very funny and informing information.. that Bittersweet sweet is a pain you have to remove the soil in the area because it becomes toxic from that bittersweet .. its how we removed it off my Dads property its killed so many trees and its a very strong Vine .. I used to play Tarzan when I was a kid in those things lol ..

This is why I find botany so wonderful! It really helps me understand life in general, and why people can be so harsh (theyre the cacti of the world 😄. But underneath all that rough extrior is usually a very sensitive plant that was forced to be prickly to survive.)

Also I struggle sometimes with being firm with my dogs' freshness (I just love them too much lol) BUT i understand now how coddling too much can lead to weak stems and then sometimes they get spoiled rotten. So you have to do some hard things sometimes to guide them proper!

Sometimes its the only way I can bring myself to do a difficult thing, knowing it will be beneficial for the future. 🩷

We learn so much from the plants and the animals. Things get messed up when we try to separate ourselves too much from nature. 😊
