@jaffabend Thanks for the feedback. I see where you are coming from. I appreciate it. My intention wasn't to create in-depth view of the interface and cover every aspect of UDK. This was intended for a crash course on how to quickly understand the basics but then jump into actually creating something in UDK rather then seeing 3 hours of drop-down menus being described.

@MaroKage Simly go up to File -- Save All, it will save the package and your map.

It's great.. Keep it up man..
I'm interested: How many points are used in "BIG" 3d games for each character?
For example how many points are used in Game: "Deus Ex" Player character?
Approximately? 1M? 2M? 12M? or less than 1M? Please answer I really need it :)

@randOmazing It's because this development kit is used to make blockbuster games like Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3.

you can make characters, meshes, textures, and maps. you can make any type of game with this engine, like how Gears of War was going to be a racing game but it never happened haha

@Dskater101 UDK is far newer version of Unreal 3 engine than UT3 is using so it will have a lot more features & bugfixes. It also lets you produce standalone games which UT3 does not. The editor is much the same though so if you know how to use the UT3 one you will be right at home with UDK, just with some extra features. There is an update to UDK every couple months adding major new features it rocks.

No you not missing anything. In the later builds and updates they took out certain maps and content.

@aZnMaPl3r5 There should be a "restore" button that looks just like your internet browser. in the corner of the quadrant.

@L0nghornfan25 multplayer part of the game is made by dice which uses frostbite but the single player part of the game is made by a different company that used Unreal Engine 3.

Is there a major difference between the Unreal Tournament 3 editor and UDK? Will I be able to create a standalone game with UT3 editor or is it only with UDK?

Is there a transcribed version of these tutorials? I really enjoy these, but I sometimes find it hard to follow with the audio. Language barriers suck.
