Victron Energy LifePO4 chargers are among (if not best) best chargers made....PERIOD

Thanks Mike - Like you, I am also an over the top battery/ power geek LOL. Like you, I have also built way more big geek and little geek batteries in ammo boxes than what I could ever possibly use LOL. I just love building them and adding different accessory outlets and meters to them. For my Bioenno batteries I didn't want to take a chance and bought Bioenno specific chargers while I was at Orlando Hamcation when I was in the USA on one of my USA vacation trips (I saw you there) 73, 5Z4J

The Hitec charger is a great moderately priced choice. LiHV is a recently developed lithium polymer chemistry that produces 4.35-4.4 volts per cell fully charged as opposed to the 4.2 volts/cell of standard LiPo batteries. They're readily available for R/C airplane use. The balance port isn't for different chemistries. For R/C use (Hitec is predominately an R/C company) most brands of batteries don't have built in BMS systems. The charger can monitor and balance the cells so each battery doesn't need the additional weight and expense of a BMS. Model airplane and car people typically own dozens of batteries so it's more economical to have the BMS in the charger.

My batteries have Bluetooth BMS, I can charge with my adjustable voltage 50A RV converter and stop when their done. These RV converters are solid DC power sources.

With all batteries heat is not your friend. The cooler you can keep q battery during charging the better for the battery. I am not saying ice cold but if you can keep it room temp by charging it slower its better for the battery. Thanks for the helpful video!

Noco chargers are great for LiFePo4, AGM, or lead acid. One charger to rule them all, and they have lots of different sizes. I use a 5A Noco for everything I need to charge.

I use my shack power supply to charge my batteries. How badly am I screwing them up?

Green light means it's in cv mode. The BMS does the balancing in this stage.

Thx Mike. I was looking for a site like this because I'm interested in getting and maintaining a ham radio system.

you gained a couple brownie points for using a mag light.
not a tactafool light.

Hi Mike. If you use power poles to charge the lower amp hour batteries (10-30ahr) do they bypass the BMS in the battery? Thank you. I appreciate your videos

I use the Noco 10amp for my r/v, it seems to work well.

I wish you would have shown that the advertised charging amps are actually produced by the charger.
Many cheaper chargers do not produce what they are labeled to produce during bulk phase of charge. If your charger is labeled to produce XX amps then you should get XX amps if not your getting cheated.

lihv is lipo but for high voltage 4.35 volts per cell instead of 4.20v per cell

Thank you so much for doing this video. I was wondering if I could use my Bioenno charger with my new Cyclenbatt, and this answers that question. Just need to get a barrel connector adapter. Thanks!!
