Thank you for these videos. I manage the Unifi setup at home and at the office as a side task and videos like these are extremely helpful to know which releases are stable and what changes.

I think something that would be useful for UniFi (I know this is not the place to make a feature request) would be similar to the add-ons for pfSense. Allow custom additions to the UI panel and extra features.

Of course then you run into the other model of "maintainers" which is a common issue as well but I'm sure that UniFi could sponsor some of the more popular add-ons to help balance out the work load.

The blocking may not be working if it’s going over the QUIC protocol. Would be interesting if you could test that.

I use the UnifiPoller software, which retrieves all data from the Unifi Controller and stores it in InfluxDB. Then using Grafana you get some cool dashboards showing more detailed information over time.

My biggest issue with the new UniFi controller is that it relies so much on the Dream Machine. If you only use the APs or switches then your experience is quite limited.
I got WireGuard installed on my EdgeRouter 4. Works flawlessly. Sucks that UI seems to be sending the Edge line down EOL hell in favour of the Dream Machine line.

A note that, wonderful as it looks, the heat mapping AR feature in WiFiMan is ONLY available if your UniFi Controller is running on certain UniFi products like the UDM Pro. If you have a Cloud Key Gen 2 for example, like I do, you’re all outta luck.

Layer 3 relay works well, but sadly you HAVE to delete a network then recreate that same network which will allow you to move the device to the switch. In some case this could cause an issue with the controller being dropped in some cases. Also we are still missing ACLs on the switch so if you need to block traffic from one VLAN to another you're SOL.

One thing I would like to understand better is the AP Group Membership vs WiFi Membership. Honestly, I get the WiFi Membership just fine. It's the AP Group Membership that's conveluded. It appears to be nothing more than a placeholder for all APs after they have been adopted and allows them to inherit the Global AP settings from the controller config. What muddies up the waters is how it is easily confused with the All APs group when setting up Wireless Networks and AP Groups.

Thanks in advance for expanding my toolset and helping me understand Ubiquity's purpose of the AP Group Membership All APs assignment.

hi,
perfect video.
i use a standalone windows or linux unifi controller for my friends etc.
And i use the old intefface in the new i search the functions ^^
And Firewall i doesent use the unifi gateways most function that i need doesent work. (Site-to-Site VPN behind Double NAT doesent work with exposed host, Sophos UTM etc can do that and if you havent got an static ip it doesent work too)

I solved the problem by connecting to each device via ssh and starting the adaption by setting the inform url manually.

Good video. Functionality comments I have.

1. Alerts. New UI can not see same alerts in old UI. Or, I don't know how to look at alerts from cloud interface that shows # of alerts. When I drill into the controller that was showing alerts, I have to goto old UI.
2. I want to see being able to change order of columns and save them as a view.
3. I have an open case, related to not being able to add a 4th SSID if I am using wireless mesh.

I am using 7.0.23 on Ubuntu Linux.
