For this video, we're looking at games that made a point of pretending that they're over when they're actually not. You're happily playing away when something unexpected happens, and suddenly you're looking at a game over screen or a set of scrolling credits. Then it's revealed that the whole thing was but a ruse. The game continues in some kind of humorous or surprising manner, and you, my friend, have been had. From Lollipop Chainsaw to many of the Monkey Island games here are 10 Games That Fooled Us With Fake Game Over Screens!

I can never quite get over the fact that Lollipop Chainsaw was developed by SUDA51 and written by James Gunn. It's very apparent in the playing of the game, it's absolutely wild.

Eternal Darkness suddenly cutting to a "Thank you for playing our demo" screen definitely got me the first time it happened. Games were still weird and unstable back then, and it seemed like the kind of glitch that was possible.

I really wish you guys would wait until your number 1 entry was finished before minimizing the screen and advertising other videos. It's the Number 1 entry, it should get full focus.

In Conkers Bad Fur day I remember there was a fake game over screen before the grim reaper explains to Conker that collecting squirrel tails will give him extra lives. Also in one of the Donkey Kong Country games for SNES (can't remember if it's the first or 2nd one) after you beat King K. Rool there is a credit sequence and then Rool gets up and the battle resumes.

That Mario and Luigi one weirded me out more than it probably should have. Even if the rest of the game is wacky and strange, it really caught me off guard. It’s a good game IF ONLY IT DIDN’T HAVE SO MANY GODDAMN TUTORIALS!

There was one in Command & Conquer 1, in its animated install program. It would show a blank screen in the end, as if it had crashed.

I'm honestly shocked that this video came out so soon after God War Ragnarok and it doesn't involve that scene. I figured Ragnarok was the reason why they made this video

The final battle with King K.Rool in Donkey Kong Country. that fake credit roll nearly got me - if you consider that as a Game Over Screen.

Triple Jump clearly never played Eternal Darkness.

Kid Icarus: Uprising. You defeat Medusa in Chapter 9, and afterwards the credits start to roll... but the REAL villain, Hades, breaks through, and Pit and Palutena realize their journey has only finished its first leg

I would have done MGS3 with "The Sorrow" over MGS2 but MGS2 was a good one to list

You forgot to mention Metal Gear Solid 3. When confronting The Sorrow, you will die & get a "game over" screen. However, you have to take the fake death pill in order to get revived.

Hitman blood money. You look like your dead in the credits roll but you can get up and kill pretty much everyone

there's a fake death easter egg in deltarune ch2.
if you go to the alleyway with dog sign on highway room, after you enter it and walk for a while, you will be met by the annoying dog and he will ram you to death.

after that, a game over screen will pop up along side with the game over music, except that is not right.
the gameover font was from undertale and the music also from undertale gameover screen, after few seconds, the annoying dog came back and ram the heck out of the gameover title.

and tgen you return to the alleyway, except it was the actual alleyway supposed to be

Wiz n' Liz for the Sega Mega Drive & Amiga had a fake game over sequence.

In between levels, you can combine two ingredients into a cauldron for various effects.

One of the combinations initiates the Game Over sequence and then tells you a second later that they were just joking.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night should have been here. The game literally leads you to believe that the Richter fight was the end, only to find out you are about halfway through the game.

MGS 3's was a little better of a fake out in my opinion. Literally had to open the menu on the game over screen.
