This tutorial will show you how to display the full path of the current open folder in the title bar of File Explorer in Windows 10.

When we access any file or folder using File Explorer in Windows 10, then we can see the file path on the title bar. The title bar is the red or green stripped top bar which displays the path of the file you opened. By default, the title bar do not show the full path but Windows has provided you with the flexibility to customize the option and enable to display the full path of files and folders in the title bar.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 operating systems.Works for all major computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung).

I just wonder if anyone knows how to get full path when I have opened a program like ms word and within word when I want to look for a file to open I get this small window and then I dont have full paths but still those irritating relative paths or only the ends or just some of the words so anyone know how to change that? And I know when I click in the title bar I do get the full paths but I when I move up a folder its gone again.

This is all very well but you can't copy the location shown at the top of the page. You used to be able to see it all in the file pathway above the folder. Why was this removed or minimised? When I click on it gives me old file locations that I haven't used in literally years. Why bother with a Search box that takes up the whole line when the contents you would search are right in front of you in the folder you are searching? It's not like you're searching the whole hard drive! This is a completely unnecessary change from what it used to be.
Windows should not change features which have become standard, it just messes up the function for the user and demonstrates that the software designers have run out of ideas and now they are going backwards because the only changes that can be made make it worse. Your explanation doesn't restore the file pathway in any functional way.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it! This was a completely worthless modification made by windows and I despise them every time they downgrade their system like this, it's only function is to annoy users who have become accustomed to the way things have worked for the last twenty years.
