A forgotten aspect of the infamous moment at Nurburgring in 1999 for Ferrari, Mika Salo, who was (as it turned out) running in his final race as a substitute for Michael Schumacher (who broke his leg at Silverstone that year), had a slow pit stop himself. There was a mix of tyres in the pit box, Salo surprised the team by the timing of his stop, being stationary for 38 seconds and this affected the preparation for Irvine's stop as well with the result for all to see
