The FIA purposely delayed the lights to find who was cheating and that's exactly what happened

There is a story that some teams had hacked the radio frequency of the starting lights signal and were sending a beep to the drivers a tenth or two before the lights were to go out, giving them nearly perfect starts. FIA somehow found out, but didn’t know which teams were cheating, so they held up the lights from going out so once the beeps were sent out, the cheaters would jump the start. Notice how the cars that jumped the start did so at the same time...
