*iPhone 5s vs Moto X: quick look*

For all the Apple fans out there, it’s that time of the year again. The iPhone 5s is here, and with it, come several improvements over the original iPhone 5.

Now that the latest iPhone has arrived, those in the Android camp might wonder how Apple’s “amazing” new handset compares to some of Android’s most popular flagship devices, including the Moto X.

Let’s jump right in and take a quick look at the iPhone 5s versus the Moto X.

I own the moto x and absolutely love it. While I am partial to android, I think it's miles better than the iphone.

Just bought my Moto X it'll be here in the morning.
At work I got a chance to play with the iPhone 5S we demo to customers... Really boring, the battery is terrible, it feels like a toy and the screen is too small. I don't understand why it has the same specs as the Moto G and costs 750$. Sure the 5S performs great so it doesn't need the greatest internal hardware but Apple is overpricing iPhones and they have cheap internals its not like the cost to manufacturer one is high. Ridiculous. On the other hand I love my iPad it's only flaw is the Swipe-less keyboard.

What about the music player on the Moto X, Josh? Trying to decide between the iPhone 5s and the Moto X. My iPhone 4s has an awesome music player. How's the sound one the Moto X with earbuds and without?

Terrence Weston With all due respect sir, You're not having problems with "android". Dead pixels and speaker issues are hardware problems and have nothing to do with the OS. So please stop bashing on android and comparing it to ios if you have no clue what you are talking about.

If you have dead pixels on a nexus 5 adress it with LG. If you have speaker issues on a moto x adress it with motorola. It is build quality you are scared of and not "android". If you wanted a phone with seemingly top of the line build quality why not try a Htc one out. Gl though.

Ps: Coming from a perfect Nexus 5 ;)

I like that megaman background, bro.
The only drawback of the MotoX is the camera quality.
But those 8 processors all having their own specific duties makes it a beast.

Coming from an iphone 4 what android phone should I get as my first android phone? I am trying to decide from a htc one, gs4, moto x, or droid maxx. I am on verizon.

I stand corrected. You're right. I failed to see that you were talking in particular about NFC. I was only responding to the fact about carriers.

It should have been stated that the moto x will last a full 24 hour usage cycle even under heavy usage (i.e. gaming and youtubing) youll still get anywhere from 18 to 20 hours.

i used to be an iSheep, but not anymore. I'm sick of apple coming out with underpowered, overpriced, small screened phones with shitty battery life. I'm switching over to android.

They both seem laggy. It's not the phone, it's crappy framerate of the video.

Did you guys use the drop test iPhone for these comparisons? It looks beat up.

I would have to say... The Moto X wins the challenge, because the iPhone 5 is too tall, and is not highly customizable on the phone and software, and the battery is not even close to the Moto X. Yes, iPhone 5 has better camera, but turning the hdr on the Moto X is cames almost the same. iPhone fails on Bluetooth and Music sharing.

Personal taste is a thing, logic is another.

Plain and simple: would anyone with a working brain buy an overpriced, not so smart, outdated on the hardware side phone or the one that costs 1/3 of it(or even less), is REALLY smart(look at that functions!) and has a battery that doesn't require you to charge it every few hours(unless you're keeping it on your desk doing nothing)?

I'm a smartphones passionate but really, there's absolutely no reason to prefer the iPhone over that little piece of art unless you feel like wasting money to have way fewer functions.

Again, I don't discuss tastes but if peopole actually used their brains the world would be a better place and there would less poverry.

Out of the 4.7" screen some real estate is used for those on screen controls. Wondering the real usage screen size is equal on both these devices??

My friend who had an international variant on launch date lagged and he told me an minor update still 4.2.2 fixed it.

And btw 4.3 has been out months ago on that phone.(international)
