THE LAST WW2 V1 LAUNCH SITES, AND THEIR HISTORY

I am going to take you to 3 of the V1 launch ramp sites in France, show you what remains there today, going over what the parts and structures were for and how the V1 operated.
Also we will take a look at the remaining storage buildings and structures near them.
Also I will cover the entire history of the V1 and production, design and the war service of the flying bomb. With all the photos from that battle I could find along with the original German war time training film.

See you in the chat of course and put the coffee on its 90 min of history and remains.

the narrating and the indepth visits of the sites makes you one of the best at ww2 history and it is quite frankly fascinating, no one else does this

These ski ramps seem very threatening and spooky to see . As a twelve year old on holiday I remember being driven past a couple only maybe two hundred yards away and feeling awe struck . Thanks for your work Tino, sorry to miss the live show .

My mother lost her house and her mother along with a neighbour and her daughter living next door and 3 other neighbours that were injured to one of these things. Interesting to think that it could conceivably have come from one of these very sites you visited.

Love the electrolux vacuum weapon. Don't even want to know how it worked. Mom had one of those for years. 😂 Thanks Tino for another great video.

I get why so many sites were destroyed after the war. But in the terms of history I wish they were better preservation of them.

Missile Park, located next to Point Mugu Naval Air Station, Ventura County, California has the US version of a V1 on display. The Loon was created to attack Japan, but with the end of the war these drones became aerial targets on the USN test range.

The first Ski Sights had a non magnetic building to put the V1 into it to set it's compass, that's why there is no rebar in the concreate. Later the modified site would have only a non magnetic square-all the Ski Sites were bombed.

Just catching the first 17 mins, the ramp in the reservoir is curious, generally the kind of thing you would see in a sand filter at a water treatment wirks were barrow access for regular removal of the filter media is reqd.

To clarify the little wooden ramp in the water reservoir. It is placed there by the forrest ranger for the wildlife to be able to get out. A sign is placed there now to make sure it doesnt get destroyed.

Tino, maybe the round holes in the concrete pavement are there because of trees (natural or man-made) for camouflage. After all, once the V1's are on carts, they are quite easy to manouvre. and the angled roofs could be made because of the use of dangerous gases (like a fume-hood), maybe even with a sensor in a top corner.
