Ritchie Valens talking for 1 straight minute

62 year have passed today since February 3, 1959, the day the music died. A plane crash resulted in the death of our beloved rock n roll legends: Ritchie Valens (17) Buddy Holly (22) and The Big Bopper (28). Since it was different time we don’t have much recordings of these great late artists. I’ve done research and collected these clips of the youngest victim of the horrible tragedy. Ritchie Valens, a star who will never fall out of the sky.

Man it’s strange the promotion of the winter dance party tour... he sounded so innocent... he didn’t even see it coming.

I love his speaking voice! It sounds so sweet, and he sounds his age too. (Many people who didn’t know how old he was during this time assumed he was older due to his rather mature looks for his age, but his speaking voice and attitude in the voice clips still remind you that he was 17.).

He sounded So young and innocent. Also he sounded like he was a good kid. I don’t know how I came to that opinion in one minute but that is how he sounds. A good human! a good soul!

Something so sad and eerie to hear an innocent voice that's been gone for decades. We take technology for granted way too much! R.I.P. Ritchie.

His voice was so soft and young and it sucks that we didn’t get to hear it grow up 😔 rip Ritchie ♥️

He was still a kid. It was nice hearing his voice. You get an idea of his personality.

I think if Ritchie never would of passed away so young, he would of got into the 60’s era of music and probably would of been a great classic rock guitarist like Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana or Clapton. Could of had his own band and played at woodstock and made more music in the 70’s. That would of been cool.

he died 15 years before I was born, great singer Imagine if he had not got on that plane, he would be 80 years old if he were alive

It's so sad to hear him announce that he'd be at the Winter Dance Party not knowing what would follow. Rest in peace Ritchie. 🎶🎵🎸🎙❤🕊

My aunt had a piano in her garage where Conrad Jones practiced with my cousin Armando “lefty”Ortiz andr original members of the Silhouettes I was nine years old when I met Ritchie on a Sunday afternoon at a practice session. Very genuine person gone to soon 😇my first car my dad bought me neede a new transmission, he took it to a alley where Ritchie brother Bob was working on it. He was underneath a 1959 Chevy Impala when I got there to pick it up he rolled out from underneath, just like in the movie “La Bamba “ He also had a drawing ✍️ of Woodywood Pecker on a drawing board just like the movie 🎥 in the same garage. This was 1964’ in Pacoima on Remington St

"Okay Dokie" only really the nicest people say that and Ritchie absolutely was one of them without even knowing him and only listening through short clips you realize how nice he actually was. 💓

Back in the '80s I bought Ritchie's only two available vinyls: a complete collection of his recordings, and "Live at Pacoima Jr. High." On the 50th anniversary of his death in 2009, I took a life-size color wood cutout that I painted of him to his gravesite, but no one was there... I later learned that Los Lobos had invited the Valenzuela family to the Surf Ballroom in Iowa (where Ritchie's final performance took place), and they celebrated the 50th there that night. He will always be remembered and celebrated by music lovers everywhere!

Watching Labamba when I was around 8 years old, you don’t realize how truly young he was when he left us. I’m 41 now..
