It's amazing that Ritchie had a mere 8 month long music career before his death, yet such a long-lasting impact on so many. Thanks Michael!

I always get chills when Ritchie's brother climbs up the hill after finding out he died, and yells out his name in anguish!. Great movie La Bamba!.

I remember watching “La Bamba” when it first came out and I fell in love with Ritchie’s voice. Nothing against current music, but I miss raw vocals and that level of emotion in songwriting.

Richie Valens was one of the people who was instrumental on making rock and roll music what it is today, rest in peace Ritchie and wherever the afterlife is, keep rocking because you have a lot of company to jam with!

I can't even imagine what Ritchie could have done in his career if he had the chance. So sad 😞 R.I.P. to him and everyone who lost their lives that day

What always is remembered by me is the horrible way his mom heard of Ritches death and also his brother. On the radio just so wrong..Such a sad time. Think about it you listen to the radio and the announcer comes on and says " Now here is the late great Ritchie Valens" so unreal and poor Donna who learned at school. I still love all their music. It also does not matter how long ago it was either. Thanks for the video also loved your video of the ballroom and you need to do The big Bopper some day.

What a talent he was. Died at just 17 but achieved so much. Thanks for the video.

The mid air collision between 2 planes wasn’t just a nightmare it actually happened. Big parts of wreckage did land in the School playground that you were at, however, Richie wasn’t at School that day - he was at his Grandfather’s funeral. 3 students died and 75 were injured. The date was 31 January 1957 a mere 2 years and 4 days before Richie’s own death in a plane crash.

I realized that, sometimes, Michael's voice get emotional. These are things that comes from the heart.

Fun fact: Ritchie's mom makes a cameo appearance in the LaBamba movie. She shows up in the house party scene - she's the lady sitting on the sofa watching Ritchie and his uncle playing the guitar.

Hands down GLC has the most diverse library of content which is informative and intriguing. I sometimes binge watch as many as I can when I'm at home relaxing. I always appreciate the level of care and professionalism with how you handle everything.

I’m a Pacoima native and resident. Pacoima Junior High School would have gone to the 9th grade at that time. And he attended San Fernando High School when he came to fame. The movie “La Bamba” also used SFHS as a shooting location as well. I attended both schools and at the time (late 90’s early 00’s), there were still murals of him on the campuses.

I remember growing up my mom would tell me about the day the music died. I grew up listening to Ritchie Valens and the Big bopper and Buddy Holly. Thank you for doing this video and showing us where Ritchie Valens is buried. Showing us the music store. Seeing this video is wonderful. Thank you for taking us along on these journeys with you

There is always something fascinating about early rock n' roll. Such rebellious, energetic, and exciting music.

I remember being a little kid and my Spanish babysitter used to play La Bamba all the time. I smiled and danced as the song played over and over. Great memories and it’s incredible that his music brought happiness to a kid decades after he died. Rest in Peace.
