Richie Valens was a huge talent. No question about it. We will never know what he would have given us, but it would have been big.

Music back then was raw, un-processed and real. Ritchie was only a kid, but he sure could rock!

If only none of them got on the plane on that cold treacherous night they would’ve lived long enough to see people enjoy their music for years to come

When you look at what this kid accomplished at 17 like myself you will see your life as a waste. 4-5 hits, a part in a major motion picture, numerous tv appearances and he was seen as the biggest star to die the night the stars died, not Buddy Holly. Buddy Holly had not released a hit in quite a few months. He had been in the middle of evolving his music when he took a break to do the tour. His best was yet to come, but Ritchie had several hits on the radio at the time and was considered the biggest star in that moment. They were good friends Buddy and Ritchie. With Ritchie often filling in for Buddy's hurt drummer on the tour. We will never know what we missed out on. Buddy was going to transform music. He just wasn't given the chance. Ritchie accomplished all of what he did in 10 months. Now thats amazing.

I was born in 1989 but the dancing that is seen in this video is an example of how people many years ago let loose and they didn’t live in fear. I mean I am sure there are still people who dance like this. But the fear was not there, and boy did people have energy

I remember when "La Bamba" came out in 1987. I was 12 years old, and my mom took me to see it. She started crying at the end, and I didn't get it back then. Knowing later that she was 22 and hanging out with her friends when it was announced that her heartthrob was killed along with Buddy Holy and The Big Bopper, I can't even imagine the heartbreak. 💔

I love the days when you could tell someone you love them & they belong to you and you didn't get a restraining order ❤️

I was 10 in 59 and Buddy's song True Love Ways is incredibly beautiful. A real classic but it can bring tears to my eyes when I play it.
