Alan Wilson obituary

The sad news today (31 August 2023) is that Alan Wilson has passed away. He was one of the most extraordinary and intelligent people I have ever met. Many would say he was eccentric but that to my way of thinking is often a complement. As an historian (he had a degree with History and Economics) his approach was both intuitive and forensic. I think of him as the last of the Welsh bards. It's not that he was a poet but rather he championed the traditional history of these islands, a subject that few people know even exists. He, along with his faithful colleague and friend, Tony 'Baram' Blackett, made many discoveries and wrote about these in numerous books. I suspect these will, in future times, be collectors' items. I wish him well in his journey now to the great unknown. I feel sure he will be greeted there with open arms.

Baram blacket died 14.12.23. In a house fire .in the same house he had a house fire under suspicious some years back.

Only in the last few years have I come to know Alan Wilson's work through authors like Ellis C. Taylor, and the late Ross Broadstock. What a great mind! Read The Divine Kingdom earlier this year. This is a fine tribute to a standout man. Thank you, Mr. Gilbert.

Holy Kingdom is a brilliant book. What shocked me was the subject of the holy cross of Christ being hidden in Wales and that Saint Helena was British. Brilliant video and tribute to Alan ✝️🇬🇧🌳

Gutted 😢 Nos Da Alan, A wealth of knowledge and a great historian A True Welsh great, if you don't know him you should, if you haven't read his books you should.
I first met Alan many years ago after responding to a request in the western mail if anyone knew about ancient British history and the legends of South Wales and especially Glamorgan, it was then I told him the story of the red horse, mynydd y gaer, and Mynwent Y milwyr, we met outside the Red gate in Tonyrefail and I took him and his team to a location that we later excavated, since this Alan has written many books and gathered a plethora of documentation and evidence which some academics still ignore, why because they know the truth and the evidence does not lie. I'm truly saddened by Alan's Passing and hope that people learn of him, his books and Britain's hidden history. Farewell friend Nos Da Alan xx😢

I’m sad to hear of Alan’s passing. I only recently within the last few years discovered his work and was immediately hooked. I managed to even get a few books. I do hope his work will live on and not get swept under the rug.
