I live in Maryland just outside of Annapolis and we have these everywhere. They’re my favorite bird call. Even though they’re “carolina” wrens… I always feel home when I hear them.

They are in northern CT. I first became aware of this bird about 3 Winters' ago when it was sitting on branch not far from a window I was looking out of. I noticed its long narrow beak, coloring and tail action, up & down, then searched thru bird books until I found the Carolina Wren. It visited my bird feeders. Earlier this Spring, the pair of birds built a nest on a support beam of a roof over a step. They raised 2 broods, I think. After the babies were raised to fledging stage, I sometimes saw them learning to fly. Lots of trees and shrubs not to far from the nest for them to practice Take off & landing. I hear all the Carolina wrens singing throughout my large yard as well as all the other birds.
