“11 of our most annoying lawyers” is a much better threat than I would’ve thought it would be

Tyrell was Elliots biggest believer even more than Elliot was of himself.

This conveying of anxiety via inability to focus on the strangers' faces is what sold me this show. The moment I saw this scene I realised that something special was waiting ahead.

Remember when we all thought that Tyrell would be the main villain of the show and foil Fsociety’s plans to take down ECorp? Haha, good times.

When it takes not one, but ELEVEN (annoying) lawyers to be present in a room to talk to a single individual, things are either very serious, or very wrong.

"Sir step aside of the car"
Elliot:"How long have I been asleep?"
"About 70 years cap'n"

From personal experience, people with power are furious when you turn down their offers or walk away, and they'll say whatever they can to discredit you... the reason you left couldn't possibly have been anything to do with them after all (that would require humility, introspection and remorse which most do not possess). It must've been your character flaws or BS about imaginary unethical motives you must have been unable to fulfill under their grand serendipitous rule. Possibly the hardest but most eye-opening time of my life.

This is the best scene of the entire series, as it’s where Elliot breaks the fourth wall and talks directly to you, and that is the end of the first episode. From there you are hooked. The rest of the scene continues in episode 2.

Getting dragged to a meeting full of elites feels especially relevant now the series is drawing to a close

The use of Beethoven here instantly transported me to Kubrick’s “Barry Lyndon.” The long takes and the hesitant, short-winded dialogue towards the end especially. “Well… I thought I’d ask…” It really feels like an homage.

The times square advertisements, The social anxiety when tyrell gets near him, the mystery behind him taking the denial personally. God this show is pure art.

Top 5 series of all time to me. Absolutely brilliant work by Sam Esmail. 💯

In the pilot, this scene seemed like those people there were the elite group in control of the world with Tyrell in charge, but I get that would have been too simple puzzle and too soon, so it makes sense they changed it to just Tyrell with a ridiculous amount of lawyers trying to hire Elliot, leaving the elite group for the final episodes.
