INKSCAPE: How To Cut an Object (or a Shape) With an Object

Using Inkscape, you can draw shapes (or create shapes like squares or circles) and then use one object to cut another object. Using the Bezier tool, you can draw an exact object and use that to cut out a piece of your other object!

I have a file that even after I do the difference command the shapes are popping back when I run the break apart command. I tried everything but found no solution... because if I import the SVG to a 3D software the shapes show like if they were not subtracted even they look like so in Inkscape. Checked for groups but everything is siting on the same layer... shapes keeping popping up if I run break apart even after I have subtracted the shapes against each other...

Mr. Crafty S. I have this .PNG file that is group. There are 2 parts (white) that need to be deleted and the place will look transparent like the rest of the image. I am struggling to cut the parts of the object. It is a grouped file, and I cannot ungroup it either I used shift to select both objects and I go to Path and difference, but I do not get the desired result. I wonder if I can supply the file and make your next tutorial where the part to cut out is round. Looking forward to your insight. Thanks a great deal.

Does it work with text over shapes, shift to select both with text above background and difference, would it cut ther text out completely leaving a blank background or just cut the shape of the words out leaving the background showing?

What if you want to keep the object that you just cut out, and then move it somewhere else?

i drew a complicated shape (outline of ireland) and then i wanted text to cut out the name Ireland within the complicated shape. It keeps telling me that it cannot because one or more objects isnt a path and cannot perform boolean operation. But I have already converted my text as an object to path. This seems to happen sometimes but not always and Im just not savvy enough to understand where my errors are coming in. Its a very frustrating thing about Inkscape!

Most of my graphic design are being done on Inkscape but the option to export the page or the selection to JPG is not in this version.... is it there in the latest version of 2022..? Please guide me...
