Thanks so much I was trying to figure out how to use a lasso too to cut out a selection but I couldn't find one. Using this method works just as well. It does work in version .92 of inkscape! Make sure both objects are selected then path then path... division....

I noticed that you can get the same result using "Path" => "Fracture". Is there any difference between the two methods?

Hi, I tried what you explained in the video but some shapes don't get cut. I need to divide a rectangle into organic shapes, so I combined the lines that compose the draw and follow your instructions. There is any consideration that I should take in mind to get the entire figure divide?

How we can do same thing but without cutting side stroke line or how we can change stroke color to pink only for one side

doesn't work with more complex shapes/designs. it just breaks everything.

Did exactly as follows and half my drawing erased I see that inkscape still cant handle dxf files like they should, going back to corel draw it never has glitches but cost money. They have a simple tool to cut the lines you hover the curser over the line and it cuts it between two other lines or many as fast as you can move it never have to select then go up to the toolbar then bla bla bla so many steps to do a simple thing.
The comments show proof. If you have never used corel draw you are missing out.
