I was honestly expecting to see the Ice Beam on this list, as it's Samus' main weapon against the series' titular enemy.

The annihilator beam is such a metal name for a weapon. Its also very underrated even in its own game. The ammo is just a mask, the thing almost never runs out of ammo in regular mobbing around.

an honorable mention: all the beams from Metroid Prime Hunters (specifically when utilized in multiplayer)

the Volt Driver can home in on enemies and when used by Kanden it causes an EMP blast that distorts the enemy's view for a brif second

The Battlehammer causes splash damage and is useful for pushing enemies off platforms due to it's high knockback

The imerialist is a railgun style beam that when paired with Trace can allow the user to gain active camouflage when standing still and has a high chance of landing a critical hit

The Judicator allows the user to fire three bolts at once in a spread and when used by Noxus can freeze enemies for a short amount of time

The magmaul is essentially just a grenade launcher that deals splash damage, however when used by Spire it can inflict fire damage for a short period of time

and last but certainly not least, the shock coil. a beam that fires a continuous stream of electricity that when paired with Sylux can leach energy from an enemy to refill the player's own energy

I have a better list
No actual order yet cuz I'm on my phone, so just 10

1- Gravity suit cuz it opens everything
And I will be more specific
The difference from I can go to warm areas vs I can move freely in water and lava is just a different kind of difference.
2- Super missiles / their combo attacks with beams from super or prime games
3- wave beam, it goes through walls
4- speed booster cuz gotta go fast, this is where men become boys
5- scan visor prime series
6- spiderball cuz it's low-key a cool idea
7- power bombs cuz fuck yes, a nuke
8- screw attack, cuz screw anything alive
9- ball boost of the prime games, cuz having a booster in morphball is genius and I wish we had this in 2d, this is no shinespark, it's almost better
10- flash shift, or what it's called, from dread. This ability has to become standard from now till ever in every Metroid game.
It's just THAT good

I don’t care if prime 4 didn’t come out yet Metroid dread already made me happy enough

Correction: Metroid: Other M is the only 3D Metroid game to feature the Speed Booster. The Metroid Prime series only has the Boost Ball as a substitute.

My favorite "power up" from the Metroid games is the Space Jump. Having the ability to jump unlimited is the best.

Aww, the ice beam didn’t make it onto the list. 😞

How does the grapple beam end up on the same list as the space jump? Once you get the space jump you’ll never use the grapple beam again.

I love power bombs. The weapon is literally just a portable nuclear warhead, and in games like super and fusion you get like 50 or something (i think its 50 in super and 72 in fusion??? why??)

Also when i first played metroid prime, i literally nicknamed the plasma beam "the overkill beam", and for good reason too.

Grapple beam is actually useless in super. You can shinespark or wall jump everything. Dread also does not have much use except areas that leave you stuck by a block. Shouldn't be on the list.

first of all you forgot to mention that in the Metroid Prime games the Space Jump isn't as god-tier as the 2D games it's reduced to a simple double jump powerup. and here's my honorable mention
the Gravity Suit- it's just as famous as the Varia Suit but it goes one step further by allowing you to walk underwater uninhibited.

I don't know why dreads power bomb and omega cannon didn't make it. They are way cooler than missiles and varia suit
