They didn’t sell well in the US and always went on sale. I got my 2018 Dorsoduro 900 in 2019 for $6500 out the door. I actually had the 2013 Dorsoduro 750 that was totaled and loved it so I kept my eye out for sales and jumped on that incredible sale

I had 2012 shiver with Akrapovic. Very fun and gives you smiles to drive it.. reliable bile, had no issues. I sold it in 2017. Now thinking to buy Tuono v4 or cb1000r.

An 08 shiver 750 was my first bike. One of my peeves with it is the catalytic converter that ran under the seat made it a very hot bike to ride when the weather is warm. I didn't realize how underpowered they are until I moved on to other bikes. I enjoyed it while I had it. Put around 12k miles on it for the 5 years I had it. I'm on the shorter side too and it sits high. Slow riding and maneuvering is pretty tricky as well. The reason I ultimately sold it was the complete lack of aftermarket availability in the US. Anything you could get was horrendously expensive.

The dorso 750 with me more than 13 years, although small electronics failure sometimes, it's a lovely bike with special character. I'm looking for a shop sell LCD display of the speedometer .

I have a 2010 750 Dorso Factory. Quality, leftfield bike that gets heaps of attention. Downsides - too heavy and utterly state of shite fuelling as standard. Seriously - in sport mode the fuelling is so bad and snatchy it is pretty close to dangerous in stop go traffic. Also - tank is hilariously small. Putting akaras and a lithium battery on it saves around 10kg from up high which is very noticable. Putting a 'fatduc' on it as mentioned in the vid is a must - $50 to transform your bike. Now runs super smooth. Fantastic bike - not the hooligan it looks like but sounds mega and goes really well. Reliable, characterful well made machine that is an utter bargain. Just need to convince myself that the 5kg weight saving by going to RSV4 factory wheels is worth the cost now...

I had both the Shiver 750 and then the 900, which was FABULOUS!

Still own 2015 shiver. Awesome bike that has most accurate speedometer. Compare to japanese bike cruising at 200kmh other bike speedometer stated over 210kmh at same speed.

I Have a 900 Shiver - it is beautiful, Ducati's are slightly more fun to ride but I have one of those to so...I had to replace the exhaust with an Akrapovic carbon fiber thing - now I have a useless Aprilia exhaust that zero people would want to buy - wonder how much I'd get for scrap it weighs a ton.

Specs sheet shopping killed the Shiver and Dorsoduro, and can't blame buyers either. Who buys an old design bike fitted with an engine that makes less power than their competition? The Aprilia's were stuck in a niche market, only bought by people who knew what they were getting into and loved the character of those bikes in spite of their shortcomings in the peak power and weight department. In the cruiser market that sounds like a deal, but the standard/naked market is too aggressive and number driven for bikes like these.

Aprilia had to move on and I can't blame them for that.
But that didn't stop me from buying a Dorsoduro 900.

Love my 750 with the dual Akro exhaust, but the fuel range is annoying. Also need to be able to adjust the mapping.

I have a Scarabeo 250 and a BMW GS. It’s totally irrational but now I want a Dorsoduro!

It was always a shame that these models had piddly little fuel tanks. Riders just don’t want to have to be looking for fuel every hundred miles. My SL1000 Falco had a 21l tank and was good for 180 miles on a run. That’s what the Shiver needed....and to get rid of the high level cans...stupid idea on a sports bike. I’d buy one tomorrow if it had a 19l tank but it’s the tank range that has always put me off.

DNA filter, dominator decat, Gpr race slip ons. I also updated to supersprox stealth sprockets front and rear with EK z3d chain.

I have so many more unlisted upgrades to my DD900 it’s transformed this bike. I love my DD900.

I’ll be posting a video soon when I’m done with my graphics kit. Also waiting on new tires as the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4’s are coming next month.

Fast forward to 2025...the Shiver 900 is back in production...aimed at the Chinese market, which is good news for anyone owning one, it means parts manufacture will continue for a while longer!

while the Tuono 660 is fine, light, powerful, it's just not the same as that sweet V2 900, is it ?
