Im lucky enough to have a real authentic Japanese market pretty close to where I live who caries a variety of types, which I know nothing about, but this intrigues me enough to perhaps go do a taste test on them.... thanks for trying this Roj and friends !

Lived in Japan for four years. Huge difference between real and fake. There are some places on line however that you can get real Wasabi paste, powder, sauces, and more. This is another link for real Wasabi. I haven't tried them out yet.

Real wasabi is now grown in Washington state in a special location under conditions like Japanese wasabi. Very expensive for even the minimum order. We tried it. Complex, delicious, pungent. Definitely not horseradish.

I hardly touch wasabi, so it doesn't really matte to me.  But good video (good information).    Don't think normal retailers stock wasabi.  Its just not that kind of item that is common.  And maybe there are some that aren't real, in the tube, and others are.  Try Asian markets.  I have a few in my area.  No problems here.
