To be fair, they should take away legacy admissions too.

The color of your skin should not be a factor for college. I don’t think it should not even be asked

" There are 40 factors admissions office is looking at"
None of them should involve a person's race.

Harvard is discriminating based on race. Seems like a very simple case.

If you remove the race card from the application then everyone can be considered equally based on grades and accomplishment as they should be.

I had a 4.5 cumulative GPA, was in National Honor Society, had 100+ volunteer hours, was on varsity swim for all four years, was captain for 3 years, made CIF finals for multiple events, grew up poor in a single parent household, worked a job my junior and senior years. 2020 SAT and 31 ACT. Yet I didn't get into my school of choice or my second: UCLA and Berkeley. Yet the black girl with worse grades, worse test scores, less extracurriculars, had both parents and was in the middle class got into UCLA. If you didn't guess by now, I'm white. Affirmative action is complete garbage.

To deny a more qualified individual because of their race/gender is wrong

As an asian american, I just want to say how shameful it is for colleges to choose students based on skin color and not on merits. Due to this issue, I was limited in the colleges I was given admittance to and it's a disgrace.

I’m a 33 year old black man saying that they need to get rid of affirmative action. I want my career because I earned it and outworked the competition not because my employer is required to hire me to meet a quota that’s highly offensive. The same goes for universities too and if you pay attention to the studies it actually has a negative impact on the people who aren’t qualified to be in these schools

Imagine being so woke you are racist, and you can't even tell

The fact that this somehow needs to even be debated is all that should tell you.

Meanwhile, back in the peasant world, we are trying to stretch our pay checks to pay for groceries and high energy bills.

The best way to stop race based discrimination is to stop discriminating based on race.. let’s judge applicants based on the content of their character not the color of their skin

❌❌Affirmative action in 2022 is racist in and of itself. Hopefully it’s overturned. And IM a minority.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." - some guy whose opinion doesn't matter apparently.

Hot take: What if we base it on their merits and not their skin color?

There needs to be efforts to raise up the standards of poor neighborhoods everywhere, fix school funding, improve overall conditions, instead of discriminating in order to have an artificially diverse student body at an ivy league school.

Imagine thinking affirmative action isn’t racist discrimination on the basis that it helps YOU yet discriminates against others.
