Menopausal Hormone Therapy: Clinical Benefits and Outcome Studies, A Deep Dive into the Evidence

Since the 2002 Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) publication, menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), especially estrogen (E)/estradiol (E2) replacement therapy (ERT), has been hotly debated. The WHI’s preliminary data release changed clinician practice patterns. Since then, clinicians have struggled with weighing the benefits with the risks. Since women spend approximately 1/3 of their lives hormone insufficient/deficient, it is important to understand MHT’s benefits and risks. This non-CME webinar will review the limitations of hormone-related guidelines, while demonstrating how the clinical evidence guides prescribing micronized progesterone, estradiol, and testosterone therapy, as well as which delivery methods and doses improve clinical outcomes.
