Cass Scenic Railroad: Last Run Up The Mountain 2024

October 27, 2024. We went up to Cass West Virginia today to watch the trains. We were able to capture Big 6 leaving Cass on the last Whittaker run, @ Leatherbark, @ Gum Road, and its return to Cass. Captured Shay 5 returning from Durbin on the Greenbrier Express run. Got a bonus of Shay 4 filling up with water @ the water tank. We also captured Shay 11 returning from the last Bald Knob run. Funnything i was on # 6 in b carriage i saw you a few times lol. Didt think i would see this video. I loved the ride and scenery. Old number six is one of my favorite engines there and the strongest engine they have!

Man, all the engines except for maybe Shay 4 had some pretty eerie sounding whistles for the Halloween season (especially the "Banshee", that thing almost sounds like a coyote howling at night). On another note, is WM Shay 6 operating on just two cylinders? Its exhaust beat sounds kind of off here.
