Rishi Sunak holds NHS crisis talks

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has held an almost day-long recovery forum on the National Health Service as pressure continues to mount.

Mr Sunak heard from senior doctors, administrators and members of the government, who warned the service is in an "intolerable" and "unbearable" state.

Talks? He needs to buy more ambulances, fire most of the office staff, hire more nurses and doctors and offer raises in line with inflation to all the health workers. If I know what he needs to do, surely he can tell.

Australia will be in this situation within 24 months. Public healthcare doesn't work for the same reason mandatory insurance doesn't: every person who does not take care of their health drains more than the entirety of another person's contribution to the system, making it totally unsustainable.
Why is this? Because when govt is the only one seeing the bills, there is no haggling, there is no refusal to pay, so prices are just whatever big pharma feels like. This makes everything cost orders of magnitude more than they are objectively worth. A controlled market will cause grifters, thieves and swindlers to flock to it in hopes of illegitimate gain (also known as GOVERNMENT WORKERS). These people profit at more than double the average salary, for making the country objectively worse and causing others to suffer.
