I bought one camera like this, and because it was so good, 2 more 3 weeks later. I do not agree that the mic is noisy, there is a very faint hum when panning and the same when tilting.

The best thing about this camera is its low-light capability. At F1.0 it is better than anything that I have, and it handles mixed lighting conditions very well, out of the box. Even with sharp light coming straight from LED floodlights, I still see green grass, blue sky, white clouds and even a few stars, and I have left WDR off (default setting).

It is a pleasure to own and work with, and has some great features like patrolling. I am not too phased about the plastic, I have mounted it high to deter vandalism, on a corner using a 40mm gooseneck / elbow mounting After 5 months of rainy weather, no water ingress yet either, the heatsink gets warm and water evaporates quickly, so I think that it is a fairly good design.

Excellent value at 3, 500 ZAR, I know of no PT camera that comes close at the price.

I also bought a DS2CD2047G2H-LI (4mm) fixed camera which appears to have the same CCD sensor, so the same great low light performance, and it cost around 2, 500 ZAR.

I really like this camera for its shape and size and colour night vision. The down fall is it not not being a true PTZ and the main housing and bracket made out of plastic and not metal - as well as the holes/grooves at the top for water to collect or get in. Do you know if there is a similar size/shape model that is indeed a PTZ and made out of metal too?

Can it track a subject and PTZ based on where the subject is?

High up in seaside locations being plastic does help with corrosion.

Hello, just had this camera installed, but I have a fish eye view. I would like a linear view, can this be done in the software.

Does Hikvision sell a separate part to cover the Heat Sink? Out of the box, it looks as an unfinished product :( BTW, in Europe the AC power supply comes with Electrical Cord.

You get raw plugs in the kit with screws. Are these good enough to hold it to a outside wall?

Great review. That camera does not look like it was designed for outdoors. The grooves and water channeling at the top is a fail for outdoor use.
