One of the many things about this series that I like is that they don't portray the Native Americans as always being bad guys like most westerns before. They portray them as the obvious bad asses they were but also as good people. I think that has been long overdue.

Elsa needs to live. The show is written in her voice. It cannot loose it's voice.

I sure hope the second scenario that Sam makes it to save her and she goes with him. She is such a major part of this story..

I hope that Elsa is saved by Sam and any medicine that he or a medicine man can give her. She is such an important person in the story of 1883. I am a romantic, so the scenes between Elsa and Ennis and Elsa and Sam have been the best scenes so far. Great cast, great show! :)

John Dutton uses the yellowstone hot springs to heal his gunshot wounds on yellowstone. He says that the native-born people have been doing the same. Maybe Sam takes her to the springs...

I agree with the majority. I love this show and also YellowStone but it would be foolish to kill Elsa off. She holds my interest in the show and besides that she can't narrate if she's dead, Sam will come to her rescue if she dies at all it'll probably be in childbirth.

Have loved watching this series so far and to lose Elsa now would be traumatic. In my opinion, she is essential to the cast and driving force for why we love this series so much. Interested in seeing what happens and where things go from here. Fingers crossed that she survives!

I’m hoping this is exactly what’s going to happen. It was said in the episode that other native tribes will know of what happened as far as the massacre. I think Sam will learn of it and come to find Elsa. This is what I’m hoping.

In an episode of Yellowstone, Dutton says all of his family is buried on the land since 1886.

There has to be a family connection between the Tribal Indian Chief and John Dutton in Yellowstone, and that Sam is the Great Indian Chief, grandfather, that is buried in the Montana valley alongside Elsa "Lighting with the Yellow Hair" not yet mentioned in the Yellowstone Series. She has to survive this incident, and Sam saves her because primitive frontier medicine of the time could not. Indian's must had a way of surviving arrow attacks from other Indian tribes. Grandfather Dutton named the ranch "Yellowstone", there maybe a connection.

Did anyone else notice that the Indian that spared Elsa's life was Tokala Black Elk.?
He also plays, Sam Stands Alone on Yellowstone.
(he is the neighbor on the "Rez" that was in the scene where Kayce Dutton found his house was ransacked by the Treasure Hunters)(he has that really deep voice)

She has to survive. She she’s the narrator, main character, and the heart of the show. We should all know by now though that Taylor Sheridan is an evil man and loves to fool us. Perfect example is the end of season 3 Yellowstone, shit he had us thinking the whole family might die. But so far they’re all still standing. I think he’s screwing with us right now. Tim and Faith have been great but without Elsa the show would be pretty stale. I don’t think they can afford to get rid of her

I would like to believe that Sam takes Elsa back to his tribe where the Elder tribe leader and medicine man treats Elsa with Indian medicine and sweat lodge . Indian medicine is far superior than the White Man's medicine. Like James' said the doctors at the fort will do horrible and unimaginable things to treat Elsa, He saw what the doctors did during the civil war, that he fought in. Their treatments for the soldiers was horrific and most of the wounded died horrible painful deaths. James witnessed that and does not want that for his daughter, Elsa

This episode was gut wrenching. I cried almost the whole show. I hope they do not kill Elsa and that she has Sams baby.

I'm hoping Sam does come with a cure to heal Elsa, and when she heals she leaves with Sam, but the Duttons stay there in Montana because that is where Elsa almost died and where they witnessed the miracle of her healing.

My theory is, Elsa dies. The last episode, Elsa's parents are discussing her eventual death. Margaret doesn't want to visit her grave somewhere along the Oregon Trail. James states we will bury her where she dies and that's where we will settle. Hence, this is the reason they settle in Montana rather than Oregon. Prove me wrong.
