I learned to skate almost perfectly the first time I got on the ice because I knew how to rollerblade

It took me 47 years to learn to rollerblade

Here's a real challenge: learn to write with your non-dominant hand. I've been trying for about a week and i can write my name

That was so freakin incredible! I can't believe how quick you were able to learn it and with so much confidence!! From two Canadians (Julie and Sam) we are sincerely proud of you!

I remember learning this at 6 years old and flying across the rink because I decided to go full speed for my first time.

Excellent! You picked up on it pretty quick. As a hockey player, I’d say it’s important to learn to stop on both sides. This really applies to anything related to skating. Once you get one side down make a point to practice the other side before moving on to anything

I’ve skated for years and never properly learned this. Mike crushed it in a matter of days. I might have to pick up my skates again an learn this

I love how efficient you are at learning. You don’t just do useless practice over and over, you analyse where you go wrong and then practise parts over and over again. That seems to be the key.

Gotta give this guy a TON of credit. It isn't easy to try something new, especially with people watching... and he's built an entire channel just trying new things with no concern of being embarrassed. I gotta say it's pretty inspiring.

Nobody’s talking about how good he became at skating in just 7 days?

As a hockey player this is incredibly impressive, it took me a few months of working with a beginners program to stop consistently. Obviously years later this stuffs natural now, but the speed you got this down is really impressive
